2nd plea in Baltimore City, MD: The cutest 10 y/o Shar Pei mix looking for a soft spot to land - BARCS, Baltimore MD
Please share Randall's post, he is in an overcapacity Balitmore City Shelter hoping he gets out!
Randall- 10 y/o, altered male, 61lbs
10-year-old Randall is a distinguished senior gentleman with one mission in life: Sniffapalooza. With a nose that never quits and a determination that rivals the best detectives, Randall follows every scent trail like it’s his life’s calling.
Despite his age, Randall is a very well-behaved boy who knows the value of good manners (especially when treats are involved). While he’s mostly calm and composed, squirrels still get him a little too excited—he can’t resist giving a good pull in their direction. Loyal, loving, and endlessly curious, Randall is proof that age is just a number when you’ve got a nose for adventure.
Upon examination, our vets noted that Randall has severe otitis, dental disease, a fractured left upper canine tooth, two masses on his left side, and alopecia on his neck where he had a very thick collar on. He was started on antibiotics, pain management, and ear drops, and a dental, mass removal with biopsy, and routine senior bloodwork are recommended. A full medical summary can be provided upon request.
While in our shelter's care, Randall has shown somewhat tense and uncomfortable behavior with other dogs, particularly with other males, but overall he was able to nervously coexist.
No senior should spend their days in the shelter, and sweet Randall here is no exception. Randall is currently in a temporary foster home, but will have to return to the shelter on 7/16, so we are hoping to secure rescue placement for him before that point.
Randall is available immediately for rescue transfer.
