Alfreda Needs Rescue

10 Years, 12lbs

Meet Alfreda, a 10-year-old poodle mix in urgent need of rescue. She came to us as a stray, and while her past is unknown, it is clear she has had a difficult life. Alfreda arrived severely dehydrated, heavily matted, and extremely lethargic.

Our medical team immediately began stabilizing her with fluids, pain management, and a full shave-down to remove the painful matting. Once she was stable, a more thorough examination revealed cataracts, a double ear infection, a wound on her tail caused by prolonged matting, and several masses that will require surgical removal and further diagnostic evaluation.

Despite everything she has endured, Alfreda has shown herself to be a gentle, friendly, and affectionate girl who eagerly welcomes attention from everyone she meets. She deserves the chance to finally be comfortable, cared for, and safe.
