Be the Hero: Save Dragonslayer Today!! - Baltimore, MD
Dragonslayer: unaltered female, 28ds, 0.7lbs
Dragonslayer was found at a gas station on 5/3 and brought to the shelter in need of immediate care. He is underweight with a body condition score of 3/9 and is showing signs of significant discomfort.
Initial radiographs of the right hind limb (from the stifle down) did not reveal any obvious fractures, but full imaging could not be completed due to pain. There is noted crepitus and bruising around the femur and right inguinal area, raising concern for a more serious injury that has not yet been fully assessed. Additional imaging is planned once he is more comfortable with pain management on board.
At this time, Dragonslayer will need continued diagnostics, pain control, and close monitoring, care that is difficult to provide fully in the shelter setting. A placement with a rescue partner would allow for more thorough evaluation and the supportive environment he needs to heal.
Dragonslayer has already been through a lot, and his condition suggests he may have been struggling for some time before being found. He deserves the chance for a full workup and a path toward recovery.
