Can You Rescue This Affectionate Boy? - Baltimore, MD
Andre - unaltered male, 4yo, 43lbs
Andre has been running at large for months and was finally caught on 1/24 by animal control officers. Despite his time on the streets, he is gentle, affectionate, and just a little timid.
He is a calm, attentive companion who walks beautifully on leash, staying close to his person, and enjoys exploring trails. He takes treats very gently and interacts politely with other dogs. During a dog test, he was friendly and respectful, mouth closed, neutral tail wags, and polite rear sniffing, but he set boundaries when play got too pushy. He can be sensitive at times, likely due to his paw injury, but overall he is a polite, well-mannered boy.
He can walk well, but he seems a little sore on his front left leg. He has some scrapes on two of his toes and a larger sore on the pad of his paw. These injuries aren’t serious and should heal on their own with time and care. He is a bit thin with a body condition score of 3/9, but otherwise healthy and a full medical summary can be provided upon request.
