Deohgee was owner surrendered on 1/14 because her owner could no longer manage the cost and complexity of her care. Deohgee has lived as an indoor dog for the past eight years with a family friend and is described as a wonderful companion, affectionate, gentle, and deeply people-oriented.
Her owner reports that Deohgee is friendly, loves to cuddle, enjoys being close to her person, rides happily in the front seat of the car, and adores children. She does well with strangers, is housebroken, crate-trained, and does not destroy belongings when left alone. She enjoys attention, takes treats and toys gently, and has no history of aggression. She is fearful of other animals after being attacked by another dog in the past and does not walk well on leash, but otherwise has been a calm and loving household companion.
Deohgee is suffering from severe chronic dermatitis that has been worsening over the past several months. She also has conjunctivitis in both eyes with mucoid discharge, visual cataracts in both eyes, significant skin disease affecting her face and head with wounds, seborrhea, and dermatitis, and only one remaining tooth (right lower canine). A heart murmur (grade 1/6) has also been noted. Despite this, she is still eating and drinking normally. A full medical summary can be provided upon request.
Deohgee is a sweet, gentle senior girl who is uncomfortable but still trusting and affectionate. She urgently needs a rescue partner who can help her heal!
