Final emergency plea for rescue for terrified Chihuahua!

We have a tiny dog surrender who really needs your help. Little, 15lb Chihuahua Oly has been absolutely terrified since his arrival 7 days ago and he desperately needs rescue. Oly was surrendered as the owner has to travel too much to care for him. Oly does not have any bite history in our system, but his owner said he may have bitten a child at some point, details are unknown or unclear. He is so fearful right now that he is a bite risk to staff, and for that reason, he is at risk for euthanasia. We will need to make a very difficult decision about him on Thursday if no rescue can take him. We have seen many times with very small dogs that they are very fearful upon arrival and forward in defensive biting behavior only to blossom in rescue. Is this how it will be with Oly? We do not know. We just know that the shelter is not the place we are going to see a turnaround. Oly is an intact, 3-year-old, potty trained and housetrained Chihuahua (mix?) who has one cherry eye and understands Spanish. If you commit to pulling him, we will get a medical intake and neuter completed. We know this is a big ask, but we think it is worth seeing if anyone is willing to try with him.
