Handsome Grey Kitty-Possible UTI- Seeking Rescue! (Baldwin, MD)
Meet Charlie! Charlie came to BCAS as an owner surrender due to not getting along with the other cat in the home. He has previously lived with a handful of kitties but him and another unaltered male cat in the home were fighting to the point it was escalating towards the other cats. The owner reported that Charlie has lived with kids and dogs and did well! The previous owner thinks Charlie would do best with other females cats in the home after slow and proper introductions.
It has been noticed recently, that Charlie has been exhibiting increased urination in he past couple of days but, no increased thirst. Upon testing his Azostick was high and his USG was mildly low with significant white blood cells in his urine analysis. At this time it may be a possible UTI which may have ascended to the kidneys. We are starting him on treatment and are monitoring him closely. If after UTI treatment or worsening symptom’s he may need further diagnostics. Due to his medical needs we are hoping to place him with a rescue organization to ensure his medical needs are properly met.

A HOME FOR CHARLIE!
Really appreciate the detailed write-up on Charliie's health status. The white blood cell count combined with low USG is something I've seen escalte quickly in shelter cats I've worked with. Getting him to a rescue that can monitor kidney function closely makes such a difference in outcomes, especially if it's already ascended.
