*currently on a behavior hold and not available for public adoption at this time*
Kellan was surrendered on 2/19 after biting the owner’s son and drawing blood. According to the family, the first bite occurred when the child attempted to take away an item Kellan was chewing. The second happened when the child moved quickly toward the owner while they were sitting on the couch. Kellan is described as very loving and extremely clingy with his person, and it appears that proximity to his owner is a primary trigger.
In his dog test, he greeted other dogs with sweeping high wags, eagerly engaged, and coexisted with both large and small dogs. He did display persistent mounting behavior toward another small male. Although he was able to respond to clear corrections, he often attempted to mount again shortly after.
During his intake exam, Kellan was friendly and cooperative. He appears medically healthy and a full medical summary can be provided upon request.
