Lagatha Needs a Second Chance - Calvert County Animal Shelter - Maryland
Big Girl, Bigger Heart 💛
Lagatha is a 1.5-year-old, 101lb Cane Corso who has been at the shelter for 32 days. She was surrendered when her previous family realized her size and energy were more than they could manage, but despite that, she remains a sweet, affectionate, and loyal girl. Lagatha loves attention, being close to her humans, and giving big, enthusiastic “hugs.”
Lagatha is intelligent and trainable, already knowing commands like sit, stay, come, and shake. She enjoys toys and playing fetch, though she does need work on leash manners, as her strength can make walks a bit challenging. With consistent training, she has the potential to be a wonderful walking companion.
She has previously lived with other animals and is reported to do well with them, though slow, proper introductions are recommended. Lagatha may also do best with older children, as her playful, bouncy nature can be overwhelming for younger kids. She is said to be housebroken, but she may benefit from crate training and enrichment when left alone.
Lagatha is a big puppy at heart, full of love and ready to thrive with the right adopter. She would do best with someone familiar with, or willing to learn about, Cane Corso/Mastiff-type breeds. With structure, guidance, and lots of love, Lagatha can grow into an amazing companion.
📣 Please help us find her a rescue or adopter, this sweet girl deserves her forever home.
Lagatha is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
