Truffle Shuffle- unaltered female, 5 years old, 46lbs
Truffle Shuffle is a soft, sensitive sweetheart with the most endearing crooked smile and a truly gentle soul. Though a bit shy at first, she has been blossoming beautifully in her foster home, showing just how calm, polite, and easygoing she is.
She is fully housetrained with zero accidents in her foster home. When left alone, she snoozes peacefully or waits politely, making her an incredibly low-maintenance companion. She does not require a crate and settles naturally into a relaxed routine.
Truffle Shuffle is wonderfully respectful with other animals, including cats, and is social with gentle dog playmates. On leash, she may give a light pull at first but quickly settles into an easy, pleasant walk. She enjoys butt rubs, leisurely strolls, and simply being near her people. She’s currently learning “sit” and continues to gain confidence every day.
Truffle Shuffle has a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect. Most PDAs that are not treated will eventually lead to heart failure and can be fatal. The good news is that if the PDA is surgically or minimally invasively closed before heart failure develops, the procedure completely corrects the defect, and most dogs go on to live normal, healthy lives. A small number of dogs may need additional medical care, but for the vast majority, this procedure is curative.
Truffle Shuffle’s medical needs are beyond the capabilities of our shelter. She requires a rescue organization that can provide the specialized care she needs. Full medical records are available upon request.
