Remembering our dear friend Jon...

So talented, kind and gentle who died in 1999, way before his time, at the age of 40. So many died because we had a country filled with hateful people who felt that our gay community "deserved what we got".

We started to get more optimistic until the hate was recently fueled by Trump and his greedy, selfish assholes who used their rotted, fake masks of religion and scapegoating to whitewash cruelty again.

It’s critical to remember. Jon left his legacy for us and it is important to remember that we had been sidelined and scapegoated in the past by a different President who the Republicans also drooled over, one who couldn’t even admit that there was a problem that was killing and torturing others, because again some humans weren’t “worthy enough”…

Now they’ve broadened the spectrum so to speak… so religious, so caring of others created in the Lord’s image, these MAGA folks are! Really???

“Hey, isn’t this supposed to be about saving homeless animals?” You say…

Along with humans, this current brand of hate is also affecting our homeless animals too. Frankly, it is killing them. Many of them our would-be family members. Dumped at shelters because the hatred this country bought into has resulted in thousands of dogs and cats being dumped because their humans can no longer afford them because killing and human misery is expensive.
