Audino - altered male, 4yo, 80lbs
Audino came in on 1/16 as an Animal Control violation and was considered at risk. Since arriving, he has consistently shown what a truly special and loving companion he is.
Audino is a friendly, sweet boy who loves treats and walks beautifully on leash, often trotting calmly right at your side. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people and prefers to take things at his own pace, but he responds wonderfully to praise and positive reinforcement.
Audino recently returned from a short-term foster home, where he proved himself to be an absolute gem. He settled in quickly and showed that he is calm, gentle, and incredibly affectionate. He is very well house-trained, with only one small accident during the heaviest part of a snowstorm, as snowy weather is not his favorite. Otherwise, he adapted easily to a home routine and demonstrated excellent manners.
On leash, Audino is a dream, no pulling and an absolute pleasure to walk. When left alone, he may vocalize briefly but settles quickly and remains calm. He is comfortable relaxing in his own space and has shown wonderful behavior around the house. He has seen cats and resident dogs in passing and showed no reaction, even when other dogs barked.
Audino is already learning basic cues like “sit,” understands “no,” is learning his name, and is even figuring out how to load himself into the car, showing just how eager he is to please. While he enjoys toys, especially crinkly ones, his favorite activity by far is simply relaxing with his people and being close to them.
With other dogs, Audino does best with gentle and polite friends and has interacted well with small dogs at the shelter.
Audino has otitis, which is an ear infection that can be treated with routine veterinary care. He is missing a nail on the second toe of his right front paw, which appears slightly swollen but is not currently causing major issues. Otherwise, he is healthy, and a full medical summary can be provided upon request.
