Working Cat Rescue or Adopter Needed ASAP! Kitty named BABY! (Baldwin, MD)
Meet Baby! This poor girl came to Baltimore County Animal Services as an owner surrender due to the owners no longer being able to care for her. They had her for about 4 months. They reported she is very hyperactive and when strangers come over she is shy and may demonstrate poor behaviors, she also has previously scratch (drawing blood) and bit (did not draw blood) in the home. While in the home she was not altered and possibly in heat which may have been the reason for her behaviors. But, here at the shelter, after her spay, these very overstimulating behaviors still persist. She will solicit attention and is able to be picked up, very briefly, but then may overstimulate and grab arms or shoes. After she overstimulates she goes right back to being a loving girl but her threshold is very short. She will need a lot of mental and physical outlets to prevent this overstimulation and she ideally would do best as a working cat where she can ensure her mental and physical needs are met on her terms. The shelter is no place for a kitty like Baby and we are eager to find her placement asap!

I’ve been able to pet Baby for a few minutes at a time at the shelter. But she does need a lot of stimulation, or she will grab. She loves to play with a wand teaser. As a “working cat” she will be able to find her own entertainment.
